Welcome - In Phase 4 (See Below)

The new system is up and running for the most part. There are still some minor bugs to be worked out and some major additions we'll be making for the membership, so the link to the old system is still up on the N4A website so you can still access items that have not been pulled over like the jobbank.

There are temporary notes at the top of relevant pages right now that serve as FAQs and notifications. These messages will come down as bugs are fixed.

Please report any bugs you see by clicking on the "report a problem" link on the left side of your screen.

Please read below for an overview of the initial updates.

Usability

  • The visuals of the site have greatly improved as well as usability. There are a great many new features such as a more robust way to see colleages that are in your region that you have befriended as well as to search for colleagues in other regions and connect to them.
  • Tired of the Listservs
We were too. You've requested it. We've create a forum where discussion between members and the national office can take place. Discussions from the National Office and your Region populate automatically, but you can also search and join committee discussions and choose whether to get every message emailed directly to your inbox, have a daily digest of the conversations that took place from forums you're subscribed to, sent to your inbox, or not receive the information at all. This way if you just want to check topics when you log in and not have your inbox filled, you'll have that option. Oh, did we mention the signup is instantaneous and as soon as you change your email in your profile, it changes it throughout the system?
  • Job Bank (In Progress)
Jobs will automatically remove themselves from the list once the "Date Closed" has expired and you have an option to have your jobs removed. An added benefit, is that they will not just delete from the database. They will archive in case you ever need to pull it back up.
  • Membership/Registration Statistics
    • Ever wonder how long you've been a member?
    • Want to keep track of the conferences you've attended?
    • Want to be able to register online without having to go through the separate PayPal system?
    • Want to be able to pull up your registration data under your membership?
You will be able to do all of these right from your home or anywhere you can find a computer connected to the internet.

Project Phases

  • Phase 1
Redesign the Visuals and Usability of the Membership Portal and create a robust system that can maintain content (job bank, resumes, discussions, documents, etc) automatically.
  • Phase 2
Pull in the current tools available through the current membership portal into the new system and link all of them together.
  • Phase 3
Add new tools such as Calendars and Forums to the new site and modify tools like the Registration System so that the membership portal is more useful. Also during this time, testers will be giving feedback to us (the developers) to make sure everything in the new system works efficiently.
  • Phase 4
Open the system up to the entire membership of N4A and take care of any bugs that may arise.
  • Phase 5
Continue to make updates and add new tools that help the membership both communicate more effectively between each other and tools that increase the ability of members to gain invaluable professional training and experience so the members of N4A continue to excel in their careers beyond others in the industry who are not a part of N4A.
